The Food Security Project by HOPE Organization in Trincomalee aims to empower vulnerable women, including persons with disabilities, by supporting them in vegetable and horticulture farming. The project focuses on improving household food security, increasing nutritional intake, and strengthening economic independence among women from widowed, low-income, and conflict-affected families. By organizing 100 beneficiaries into self-help groups, the initiative promotes cooperative farming, provides training, seeds, and sustainable agricultural resources, and encourages organic farming practices. This project addresses the ongoing economic crisis, rising food insecurity, and malnutrition in Sri Lanka, helping families build resilience and achieve long-term livelihood stability
